Ghanian/American Recording Artist, Eric Turkson, DB, also known as Ded Buddy, is a multi-talented force to be reckoned with. While singing is his forte, throughout the years, DB has also developed his mastership in song writing and production within the Pop, R&B, and EDM genres.
As a child, growing up in Accra exposed DB to a vastly diverse culture and sound that is apparent from the first note. His musical influences include E.T. Mensah, Osibisa, Michael Jackson, Beatles, The Carpenters, Enya, Lionel Richie, Kool and the Gang, and Stevie Wonder, whom he opened for at Panafest in 1994.
When the music scene in Ghana needed to be revitalized in 1997, DB took it upon himself to formulate a fusion of High-Life and R&B/Soul vibes to construct a new sound (AFRO R&B) for the masses; making him an overnight singing sensation.
DB has collaborated with some of the worlds most notable artists, including Junior Reid on his song ‘One Love’, Grady Spivey (Ruff Ryder/Swiss Beatz), Hardy ‘Indiigo’ Muanza (Producer for Madonna), DIDEIR AWADI, J Martins, Kns Tha Engineer (Artist and engineer to Swizz Beatz), Fiumi (Switzerland) on the song ‘Anthem’ that topped the itunes EDM/DANCE chart for 10 weeks.
DB is currently promoting his latest single, "Be Mine", while
planning a tour and wrapping up his forthcoming project titled 'Afro
King', which is anticipated for an early 2021 release. His goal is to
create relatable "feel good music” that the whole world can connect and vibe with.
Be sure to stay alert for what DB is set to deliver in this last quarter, and the coming new year.
